City College Manchester in Manchester Business & UK Resources

City College Manchester is based on three main sites across the city: Abraham Moss in Crumpsall, City Campus and Northenden. Each has its own specialist facilities and resources, so the College can offer a huge range of opportunities for students of all ages. We also have a lively International Centre which welcomes hundreds of overseas students every year, and a number of local learning centres in the community, including Forum Futures in Wythenshawe. The College is also the largest provider of Offender Learning, with contracts in more than forty establishments. Our prison Education Managers help thousands of offenders to turn their lives around through learning, in prisons and young offender institutions throughout England. City College Manchester works with many local and regional employers and businesses every year, providing specialised services through its Centres of Vocational Excellence CoVEs in logistics, media, retail and health services, as well as training in business, ICT, catering and a wide range of other subjects, which can be customised and delivered according to business needs. For school leavers, weve created our City Sixth Form concept, which means our fulltime students work in small classes and receive individual support. Our Ofsted Inspection Report in 2004 commented on the very good support for students that we provide, and students themselves told the Inspectors that they valued the safe, friendly and welcoming atmosphere they find at CCM. We also have an established programme of higher education courses in business, creative and performing arts, ecology and teaching, which attract hundreds of students every year. Adult learners can choose from our wide range of full or parttime studies in areas including hair, care, languages, floristry, arts and more, and many of our courses run with day, evening or even weekend options to fit in with your working and everyday life. In many subjects, we offer progression from GCSE level through to degree or equivalent levels, all at the same college. In others, City College will give support and assistance to students wishing to move on to further study at other colleges and universities or to move into employment. City College is also in the process of merging with another local College to form The Manchester College. This move will open up access to an even greater range of facilities for all of our students in the next academic year.
