The Instituto Cervantes is the institution created by Spain in 1991 to promote, teach Spanish and spread the culture of Spain and the Hispanicspeaking countries. The headquarters of the institution are in Madrid and in Alcalá de Henares Madrid, city of birth of the writer Miguel de Cervantes. The Instituto Cervantes is present in four continents with more than 40 centres, amongst which outstands the Instituto Cervantes in Manchester, the first in the North of England.
