Hugo Mash is a privately owned restaurant, cafe and bar in Manchester city centre and probably the first of its kind in the UK. Serving good food fast all day in a comfortable, informal and uncluttered atmosphere it provides affordable english fare alongside some fantastic drinks from around the world. Live bands can often be found entertaining the clientele and, with a spacious upstairs bar, private and notsoprivate parties are a regular feature at Hugos. Hugo himself is a mythical character dark and charming like a hot food Man from Milktray he comes from a long line of British heroes and antiheroes when hes feeling cheeky like James Bond, Danger Man and the Saint; though by all accounts hes more likely to be found sipping a Vodka Martini with a Russian temptress than shooting her KGB boss with his signature weapon most probably because a potato masher is not the deadliest of tools; and in point of fact hes far more complex a character than simply a suave secret agent silent traces of some of the Silver Screens greatests, Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin for instance, are an essential part of the raw ingredients for Hugos persona and indeed his entertainment offering.
