Manchester Youth Arts Network is a development of a one year project, Youth Arts Shock, which in 2002 organised a three day Young Peoples regional showcase as part of Cultureshock, the North West regional arts programme of the Commonwealth Games. MYAN provides information through a 6weekly ebulletin, an annual seminar event, targeted training opportunities twice yearly and this website. Manchester Youth Arts believe that all young people have the right to access all the arts have to offer. This network aims to support young people, and those who work with young people, in gaining the knowledge to access what is available across the arts and also the means to develop new ideas or projects. The network is steered by a core advisory group, made up of individuals representing Manchesterbased arts organisations.
