Bethesda Hall in Manchester Business & UK Resources

The church at Bethesda Hall started in 1939, just before the Second World War. An evangelist named Tommy Richardson pitched a large tent on the site of the present hall. He had Gospel meetings for a few weeks. The Lord blessed his preaching and people were saved. The local Christians then decided to build a meeting place in Swinton rather than attend an existing church in nearby Pendlebury. The new building was constructed where the tent had been. [hall photo] Bethesda Hall opened for the first time in April 1939. It has been renovated extensively on several occasions, and is still used as a meeting place for Christians today.
