Stretford Amateur Swimming Club The Club swims and does water polo at its headquarters Stretford Leisure Centre, Greatstone Road, Stretford, Manchester Go to Map. It is only about 400 metres away from the ground of the world famous Manchester United football club. We are about 3 miles south west of the heart of the City of Manchester but we, nor Manchester United, are in Manchester we are actually in the Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council area. We are a very active club with over 400 members who participate in swimming, water polo, leisure swimming and life saving activities from all ages 5 80 years of age. We are affiliated with numerous associations ASA, North West Region, Central Lancashire Swimming and Water Polo Association, Manchester and District Swimming and Water Polo Association, Speedo North West to name a few.
