Jitrada, named after the Thai King’s palace, is one of Manchester’s premier Thai restaurants and you’re guaranteed a right royal reception and feast here. The restaurant is situated in the heart of Sale in what was a Chinese restaurant. Jitrada is fairly large, catering for 160plus diners, and Thai artifacts adorn the walls. A water feature adds a calming influence. The menu covers all styles of Thai cuisine, ranging from the dry, spicy dishes of the north to southern dishes with plenty of fish and coconut, as well as classical metropolitan cooking from Bangkok. Popular dishes include a truly excellent pad thai and pla nung manow steamed sea bass with garlic and chilli, lime and fish sauce. In the beverage department they have an ample wine list as well as Thai beers and for the brave at heart Mekong whisky.
